Daniel Contreras, anthropologist by Universidad de Chile, worked for 10 years in the Chilean Ministry of Education, where he was Secondary Education National Coordinator. For 9 years he has collaborated with UNICEF in Chile and Africa. He has been Associate Professor at Universidad Alberto Hurtado and has published profusely on educational policy and analysis of educational improvement with equality. He has participated in research projects in a variety of subjects connected to education, including subjective well-being, human development, and youth, among others. His research has been quite influential in Chilean education. Since 2015, he is responsible for the Educational Area in UNICEF-Perú.
